Is Angela Merkel The Wicked Witch Of The East?

Read this. This is definitely not the sort of thing that the leader of a nation (and definitely not Germany) should be saying.

She said that multi-culturalism in Germany failed, for me that is an open secret. So why should she not talk about the reality as it is?

I agree with you that she should speak of the reality as it is. I also think that she should have been more tactful being the leader of the country. It’s not enough to say that foreigners (the darker ones as I don’t think she meant the Brits, French or Americans living in Germany) are a problem but she should have offered practical ways to ease their integration and ended her speech by creating an atmosphere of hope and one of inclusion. No different cultural group integrates within a generation. It’s unrealistic. You can’t invite them in then command them to integrate or else, expulsion. And from what I understood from the news report, Merkel put all the blame on the Turks. When a group feels itself attacked they close ranks and withdraw which only makes matters worse. The problem with singling out particular groups is that if you leave it at that then it legitimizes discrimination against them. They can’t get jobs. Locals shun them. They get attacked because some demented nationals think the government approves. It’s a well-worn path that leads to genocide. Hitler’s rhetoric against the Jews is a pertinent case in point. It is irresponsible for the leader of a nation to make a highly visible group of people within the country vulnerable to discrimination and violence which is what Merkel has done.

And now the UK is following suit…

Next thing we know, it’s in the EU’s constitution!

Cameron is a blue-eyed Tory afterall. Nothing less than the crap that comes out of his mouth can be expected. Our prime minister has no plan, no vision, no insight or foresight, no idea how Britain can be vital and relevant for today and tomorrow instead of the days of yore of his grandfather. The tragedy of democratic politics is that it’s rare to find anyone worthy of the term “leader” in high office.
